Labor Day Weekend (2007)

After a tearful goodbye and send off, Darla and the children boarded the fight back to Chicago, where her husband Jim was to meet them for the drive back to Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Arlyn and I drove up the old highway in hopes of finding fruit stands open (which is a challenge in Mormon country on a Sunday afternoon). We did find one though and bought two boxes of freshly picked Early Elberta Peaches for my sister to can.
We drove on to spend the night in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. We arrived, settled into our motel room, and then went downtown for a steak dinner (which was out of this world) and looked in some of the shops before retiring for the night.

We woke up fairly early and headed out of town. The Teton Mountains were spectacular, as always and on entering Yellowstone National Park, we saw 2 grizzly sows and 2 cubs. They were a bit too far away to capture a good photograph. Up the road a ways we stopped to watch a big bull Moose enjoying his lunch.
We made other stops along the way through the park at points of interest, and arrived back at our home about 4:oo in the afternoon.
