Our annual family campout took place in the on RedFish Lake near the Sawtooth Mountains, and Stanley, Idaho.
The scenery was spectacular, and as always we had a good time with the girls and their families. (Minus Darla) I think they will plan to be here for the event next year!!
Tracie and LeRoy brought their neighbors Jossette and Chris Bossard and their two children, Jaylin, and Timber. All the children had a great time together.
As alway there was plenty of great food, and SMORES enjoyed around the evening campfire.
We spent considerable time down at the lake front and the kids loved playing in the water - catching minows, and playing on the sandy beach. We took them over to the Lodge one afternoon and they had fun there swimming and using the Water Tractors.
One afternoon we all went to the Fish Hatchery and were given a guided tour telling us about the work they do there and showing us some of the salmon that migrate upstream 900 miles to spawn. Some are nearly 4 ft in length.
They have a stocked pond there where the children all went fishing.
Tara, Andrew and Kyle enjoyed a lengthy canoe adventure on the lake one day,and LeRoy, Dad, and Chris went out on fish boat together one afternoon.
One evening a crew went to a Hot Springs for a soak. While they were gone LeRoy and Chris went out in the fishing boat again, and LeRoy hooked a "Big One"!!! Namely Chris Bossard.--right in the forehead. They went into nearby Stanley for some medical attention, but they weren't able to take care of the problem there, so sent the boys to the next nearest medical facility, which was almost 100 miles away. They were able to remove the hooks there and put a couple sutures in. It was about 3 in the morning when they got back to the campground.
