Visiting the Dagenais' in Idaho

This is PECO and the cage that LeRoy and Tracie made for him. He is (as you can see) a parrot. An elderly lady friend of theirs gave him to them to take care of. She is currently in a nursing home, and probably won't be leaving, so they most likely have a new permanent member of their family.
Peco is about 30 years old. He hadn't been handled much, so they are working on getting him to socialize. The cage he came in was too confining, so they built him this nice big new one.
Pearle flew to Nampa and was there for about 10 days helping while Tracie recovered from laproscopic knee surgery. It went well, and she is doing fine. They will do the other knee in another month or two.
While there, Tracie and Pearle worked on a new craft project. Embroidering flour sack dishtowels. They completed one set of 7, and ironed another 50 towels. Pearle stamped and brought home 4 sets (28 towels) to embroider. Guess that will keep her out of trouble for awhile.
Arlyn drove down over President's Day weekend and we arrived back home in Montana on Monday the 21st of February.
In the recent days there has been some saddness in our immediate family and church family. Darla's husband, Jim's 85-year -old father fell down a flight of stairs on Feb. 4 and passed away from brain injuries on the 9th. Also our pastor's father passed away just a day before his 80th birthday, on Feb 11. His wife died on Dec 8 of last year, and he had lost the will to live without his lifelong mate.
To end this post on a happier note: LeRoy has begun a new craft project. Turning mechanical pencils and pen's on his lathe. They are beautiful works of art. He can put one out in about 20 minutes. Of course he sent one home for both of us before we left.
