We spent the weekend of the 4th camping in Glacier National Park. It was a beautiful weather (just a little shower). We hiked the Trail of the Cedars at Avalanche Creek. Arlyn is standing in front of one of the trees that fell. You can imagine how large the tree is by the root system he is standing in front of.
As always the scenery was spectacular. There is no place more beautiful.
Arlyn and I took the hike up to the outlook of the lake at Logan Pass. You can see what a challenge this hike was with all the snow fields still present. Most of that will be melted by the end of July. It took us almost 3 hours round trip. The decent was more difficult because it was about noon time and there had been a lot of traffic and the snow had melted quite a bit and was very slippery.
We took the free shuttle bus through the park this trip instead of driving ourselves. It was relaxing, but it was near impossible to take pictures out of the windows of the bus as we traveled. I missed being able to stop whenever we wanted to photograph a scene.
Can't wait till we can go again next year.
